Pyladies

I joined Pyladies a few months ago and it has been an awesome way to meet other ladies into coding and who are just starting out. We all learn together and help each other. The group I belong to is having in-depth learning session on git and databases.

Someday I would love to go to a coding school to get really in-depth for a few months. For now, I can learn on the side while trying to support myself.

Python is a great beginner language and I encourage anyone who thinks they might like coding to give it a try and then be prepared to fall in love!!! Like I did.

Inspiration for Career Changers

I am always inspired when I read great tales of how someone changed careers.

This post especially caught my attention.

Stephanie, the woman who wrote the article, gives a step by step account of how she transitioned from a program manager to a programmer. It is hard work to be self taught and she succeeded.

I am in the process of learning to code and transition into a full time developer. I started as a photographer but I feel in love with coding.

 I know I will re-read this article many times on my journey to programmer in the following year.

 I hope you find it as inspiring as I did!
